actually its not a bad question.duran had a great offense, and a great defense.he was everything textbook but was mad man.its tough to say.i think ali could punch when he set his feet he just barely did.slightly duran.

Why is every one acting like this is so obvious? Its a total toss-up. Two near perfect fighters. I go with Duran, but the slightest bit.

Muhammad Ali is without a doubt the best fighter the world has ever seen. Duran has been knocked out even though he was at 154 when it happened, he went on to still be able to fight by giving hagler a very tough fight, and beating barkley who ko'd hearns who ko'd duran. Ali never came close to a 10 count. That is the difference between the 2. Duran is one of 5 fighters I rank as the best ever. Ali is the best ever. In terms of overall skills, Ali had more. Ali wasn't a body puncher, but his precise punching to the head has rendered men in Gorilla suits incapable of finishing fights.

Duran's resume became so much better after he beat Sugar whether Duran won or lost, he never ducked a man. Ali's resume was superb from the start of his career to the end.
