How Americans overrate there greats?

Hagler couldn't KO (and lost to) Watts & Manroe who are journeyment at best, Antuofermo a gd all draw and a close match vs a lightweight in Duran, but somehow KO's Calzaghe whos never been knocked out and fights at a higher weight. But sorry thats clutching at straws, thats like saying Turpin would KO Mayweather its just crazy. Dont get me wrong Hagler was a great fighter with great ko potential but saying he would KO Calzaghe easily when hes never been ko'd and a weight above is just ******. If Duran can cause problems who is Hattons size why would Calzaghe struggle? Duran was amazing but hes no middleweight.

If you watch prime Hagler you would see that he was a complete wrecking ball at his best. He just ate up whatever they put in front of him. Hagler beats Calzaghe easily, it isn't even close. Much of Hagler's success is attributable to his conditioning and work rate. He wasn't a big KO artist, really he wasn't even that big a puncher at all, but he would work you and box you, keep swinging and throwing combinations upstairs, downstairs, keep you moving and working until you were gassed, beat up, and way behind on the cards (or on your ass). He was like a damned buzzsaw that never let you rest. And harder to hit than you'd think, I don't think his upper body ever stopped moving...he always made me think of Frazier in that respect.

You should understand that Calzaghe's keys to success are much the same as Haglers.

Calzaghe will put in a coupel of rounds against hagler but that's it it's all downhill from there. ended probably a TKO victory in favor of Hagler while he is ahead on cards.
