that's why i laugh when people talk crap about joe's defenses and no-name division when bernard's 160 was utter crap as well. can you seriously argue 160 during hopkins' reign was better than joe's? reid , brewer , mitchell is better than holmes or joppy imo.

eubank is better than any fighter hopkins fought at 160. (glengoffe was a good win but he wasn't the same guy at 160 as he was later on his career at 175 or even 168.)

you want to know how good the 160 division was during bernard's reign?

keith holmes couldn't win the nabf belt at 154 so he jumped to 160 and became the wbc 160 champion for numerous years.

But sorry thats clutching at straws, thats like saying Turpin would KO Mayweather its just crazy. Dont get me wrong Hagler was a great fighter with great ko potential but saying he would KO Calzaghe easily when hes never been ko'd and a weight above is just ******. If Duran can cause problems who is Hattons size why would Calzaghe struggle? Duran was amazing but hes no middleweight.
Hagler did knock out both Watts and Monroe (in two rounds), they weren't journeymen either, top middleweight contenders from Philadelphia.
The Watts loss was a hometown decision, the Monroe loss I've never seen (not sure if a film even exists).
Either way, a more experienced Hagler got rid of both of them very quickly.

The Antuofermo fight was a robbery, Hagler deserved that win. In a rematch Hagler destroyed Antuofermo who was certainly no bum.

Hagler looked tentative against Duran, not one of his best performances for sure but perhaps he was looking to prove a point (some were questioning his now legendary stamina at the time).

I can't say whether Hagler would KO Calzaghe or not but it's certainly not an impossible outcome, especially if the fight is 15 rounds.

Hagler did break down several fighters who were known for their ability to take a punch.
