No doubt. You are a trailblazer and a trendsetter my man. It's just annoying that the kiddies basically try to steal your entire act.

Often imitated and never duplicated. You know the drill.

Don't forget Ross Greenburg is on a crusade to shut the loose lips at HBO.

Top Rank is known for putting on PPVs that don't fair well statistic wise. I honestly thought Cotto/Margarito would be the exception and not the rule. It had all the key ingredients to be huge. Cotto had the entire island of Puerto Rico behind him along with certain segments of New York City and the Puerto Rican Americans. Margarito has a huge following in Southern California with Mexican Americans and in Mexico.

What exactly is the point of this thread???

It's a fight between 2 men.. isn't that what we are all here for??

who is the more popular of the 2 men dont mean **** once the gloves start flying..

PPV numbers are just an excuse for Floyd Fans to use when he ducks someone.. "he isn't a big enough name" they all cry...

I believe that too. The fact is that Arum announced that for whatever reason he wasn't going to release PPV numbers anymore. Some people here see a conspiracy where it doesn't likely exist, but on the other hand Arum left himself open to these su****ions.

There is no way top rank did not make a lot of cash on this fight. They had to get a decent site fee, plus 12k+ is not a small live crowd. Looking at the expenses i can not see how Cotto and Margarito together made more then 6 million (off the top), while they spent very little on the undercard fights. 10 million total maybe little more depending on advertising.

HBO does have to wet their beak on the PPV also but i am sure they did enough buys to get well over the break even point. I just can not see how they would not have made a bunch of cash when i look at everything. Bob Arum seems to be happy, and if he lost money I am sure he would not be so pleased with what happeaned.
