Aaron Pryor was a monster pressure fighter. I assume it would go a lot like Mayweather-Castillo I, and this time the pressure fighter would get the nod.
Aaron Pryor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. at 140

Floyd was a more aggressive at 140lbs and imo a little faster. I actually think that would work against him. I think he would allow himself to get into more of a shootout than would be in his best interest and that could lead the hawk into winning a exciting fight. Its hard to say because I have never seen someone make Floyd really dig down and try to pull out something close in physically demanding fight so I may be selling him short.Last edited by M.I Truth ?; 08-30-2009, 06:33 PM.Comment

No one should be calling Floyd a monster at 140, he only had three fights there and none were against anything close to what Pryor, a true monster at 140, would give him. His biggest win was against Gatti, who just doesn't belong in the same ring as someone as fast and good as Mayweather.
As soon as Pryor went to work Floyd would start going backwards and Pryor would make him pay for it. Arguello could do that because he was bigger and much stronger, nothing Floyd could throw would land like the rights Pryor walked through against Arguello. And it's not like Arguello was winning the fight when Pryor knocked him out.Comment

He went to the body but you never got the feeling that Floyd was in danger of being hurt. I think Pryor presents that. I think you miss my point though. The 147lbs version of Floyd towards the end of his reign there he became more defensive then before. I'm not saying so much that he was a monster at 140lbs in particular I'm saying that he was more aggressive at that time...pre 147lbs. That style may be his undoing in a fight like this. This guy could actually have Floyd in trouble at any second. We have not see that before.Castillo demanded something physically of Mayweather, and he basically hit the bicycle except for the 11th.

Bottom line: It's a fight I'm definitely paying money to see if it were possible. He went to the body but you never got the feeling that Floyd was in danger of being hurt. I think Pryor presents that. Most Bscene posters have a soft spot for nostalgia. But simply comparing skill for skill Floyd beats just about any fighter from any era including Pryor.Comment
