why is everyone so shocked people are votein for calzaghe hes the bigger man and quicker better boxing skills a excellenmt chin why is it so crazy to think calzaghe could win close on points ???? if the likes of bobby watts and willie monroe could beat him o on points why not calzaghe ??
In my opinion, a middleweight version of Sweet Pea, or prime vs prime Ray Leonard, is a hard fight for Hagler. But that isn't Calzaghe's style.
Thomas Hearns had an excellent jab and great power, but he couldn't stop Hagler from coming after him. Someone as good as Monzon may be able to outbox Hagler without being on the back foot all night, but, although I like Calzaghe, I don't think that he's on that level.
As I said before, Calzaghe may be able to win a couple of rounds by using his hand speed to land and then move out of range, but I don't see him doing that for most of the rounds.Comment

This is surely going to go down as a ****** post on my part but picturing the fight in my head is just laughable. I am a calzaghe fan. I enjoy his slappy fighting style and although hagler never went to 168 calzaghe would not in my opinion have what it takes to beat a prime Marvin Hagler. Calzaghe is not a pot shotter or a runner and it pretty much took a master of the "touch and go" style of boxing to beat him. Calzaghe could windmill all he wanted...he would purely and simply get the piss beat out of him. Hagler was both hard as nails and a brilliant counter-puncher in his heyday and I would pick him to beat damn near any fighter at or near middleweight. I know, I need to get off Hagler's nuts...regardless: Best middleweight ever. Calzaghe is nowhere near his greatness.Comment

[QUOTE=dstew;3964597]You are basing your prediction that Joe would KO Hagler on his performance against Peter "The Pity of Providence" Manfredo? Peter "I couldn't even win The Contender Crown" Manfredo? Are you ****ing kidding me?
He was being sarcastic dude.Comment

Was that even English? Nominate for the most ****ing worthless post of the day....Comment
