it's quite an accomplishment BUT we are talking about arguably one of if not the greatest middleweights ever. middle is more prestigious and historically tougher. who's #1 aside from hagler? monzon? that's about it.

yea because Calzaghe has been KO'd before...... typical overrating of older fighters, the fight would be alot closer than what people are saying.

hagler wouldnt have stopped joe, so therfore he would have been slapped the **** up and lost on by a wide UD..

Haglers the most overated fighter, hes not even that good

i think tommy hearns has better chance coz hes taller and a better counter puncher.

I like Calzaghe in this. I think his speed would give Hagler a lot of problems, and the medium range he boxes at was not Hagler's favourite either, he liked to be either at a distance or up close. Hagler also tended to tire in the later rounds and although he would fight up until the final bell, he would be a lot slower and clumsier in the second half of the fight. Calzaghe would eat this up.

Hagler's best route to victory is to come out and go after Calzaghe like he did with Tommy Hearns. Calzaghe has never been in with something like that. Calzaghe has a better chin than Hearns though, so I think I'd expect him to survive. Calzaghe Decision.

NB: Now before getting mad about this, just think about it. A boxer who is usually faster than his opponents, throws more punches and is very hard to stop is a very hard boxer to beat.
