Props to Rick Reeno for figuring out the correct URL to the article, I accidentally sent him an old Jacobs article on accident from his second fight.

Here is a quote that fell on the cutting room floor.

"De La Hoya, Luis Collazo, Jaidon Codrington, Winky Wright, a lot of top guys gave me advice even before I turned pro. This goes way back three years. I talked to Winky Wright. He commentated on my last Golden Gloves. He pulled me to the side after the fight when we went to go eat, we had a discussion about the transition to the pros. Winky Wright was the first person to put me on to what the pros were about and giving me good luck."

it's still relatively early but its good to see a young new york city fighter getting buzz.

Jacobs is not officially signed to Golden Boy. He has some deal to fight on their shows. He's with Al Haymon.

He seemed to get defensive about Atlas' comments, rather than actually responding to them.

He doesn't slap like a girl and isn't old as hell..maybe that's what you're missing.

His response was that he felt it was necessary to fight confidence booster opponents who would let him get rid of the jitters of fighting these experienced pros.

In the pros no one cares what he did in the amateurs because thats something entirely different when you're getting hit with little gloves, it's about how tough you are and what kind of beating you can administer.

He reminds of Chad Dawson. He has all of the physical gifts, but mentally I just don't see the poise to really be special. I think he will be a very good fighter, but he will have trouble overcoming adversity in the ring.
