You are funny because you only do 2 things when it comes to analyzing fighters.

1.You grossely overate them.
2.You unbelievably underrate them.

Jacobs is definitely one to look out for at 160 or 168, maybe even 175 sometime down the line but I think he has had enough confidence boosters, he needs to fight somebody that can stretch him a few rounds, I'm not saying put him in against contenders and champions but at least stop putting him in against tomato cans.

What am I looking for when I watch this guy? I've seen him a couple of times now and am yet to see anything that justifies the 'best US prospect' tag that seems to be attaching itself to him. I presume it isn't just crazy talk, so what am I missing?

He doesn't slap like a girl and isn't old as hell..maybe that's what you're missing.

His response was that he felt it was necessary to fight confidence booster opponents who would let him get rid of the jitters of fighting these experienced pros.

In the pros no one cares what he did in the amateurs because thats something entirely different when you're getting hit with little gloves, it's about how tough you are and what kind of beating you can administer.

Really? I think he's one of the best American prospects out there.

He reminds of Chad Dawson. He has all of the physical gifts, but mentally I just don't see the poise to really be special. I think he will be a very good fighter, but he will have trouble overcoming adversity in the ring.
