The gist of it was that Mayweather has shown more vulnerability against pressure fighters than boxer-punchers. I pick Margarito, because his stamina will make him more dangerous than the pressure fighter that gave Mayweather the most trouble, Castillo.
this is very true id still rumble with Cotto though because he can do a bit of both

I'll let you in on a secret of which kind of pressure works best against Floyd.

To really pressure Mayweather effectively, you can't just rush in like Jesus Chavez or Ricky Hatton. That is ****ing suicide, as shown in both fights.

Castillo had success because he had the perfect jab for a pressure fighter. It was hard enough that you had to brace for it coming, and while you were taking/defending the punch, Castillo would step forward into you, putting him on the inside in the perfect position to do his best work.

Cotto has a great jab, but he often tries to fight from the outside unless the opponent is not particularly good at fighting on the inside. Notice he fought Mosley from the outside, because Mosley can fight well on the inside. He fought Judah in a pressure style because Judah blows ass at fighting on the inside.

Mayweather has shown that he can fight well on the inside, so I would guess that Cotto wouldn't try to get on the inside immediately, and would only try to do so if he felt he was losing, and by then, it might be too late.

Margarito doesn't have a great jab, but he will be throwing a ton of punches when he is one his way on the inside, which will serve as the same type of effective aggression which can get Margarito on the inside.

Okay, I'm done. Sorry for the DLT-sized post.

I've never seen him, but I've heard about the absolute ferocity of Duran. If it's true, I would probably pick Duran to beat Mayweather, especially at lightweight, where Duran was the best ever.

Duran was a very underrated fighter skillwise he had more skill than J L Castillo

I've been watching less than 2 years, and I am so god damn behind on everything to do with the sport in general, that I have sworn to only watch fights from 1990 and later in order to at least get me general knowledge of the current fighters in the sport on par with the people who know what they are talking about.

One day, I will go back and watch **** like Ali-Frazier, the fab four's round robin and other great historical classics. I just can't fit it in right now.

I understand your situation, and am very impressed with what a sharp student you are. However, you should watch Frazier-Ali I the very first chance you get. It's like telling a film student that they need to see "The Godfather". It's a standard that all others are measured by.
