He doesn't have the build to be 230-240 lbs like he is now (just fat) but he looked quite solid against Holyfield and very good at cruiserweight.

Even against Holy he had unnecesary bulk on him. I will admit however that he looked good at times at Cruiser. The funny thing is that there were other times at Cruiser where he still looked fat. So that just tells you of how bad he is now physically.Comment

I think that Toney must be something else if he can be competitive at heavy by just being fat and eating big macs?
Why dont his abilities follow the rule book? How come other boxers cant do what Toney does? Is he the greatest boxer in history?Comment

Well no, he isnt the greatest boxer in the history of the entire sport. Other people, actually smaller than him, have done similar things. But thats what makes this sport so amazing: when you see people do things you simply didnt think could be done.Comment

No matter Toney's size he would never be the favorite against Wladimir. Wlad fests off semimobile counterpunching boxers and would jab circles around Toney. Toney would fall in love with his defense, all in all losing majority of the rounds.Comment

It could happen. But a well-timed knockout punch, not unlike Toney vs Nunn, is what I would see happening in the hypothetical situation that a 168 lb James Toney fought against Wladimir Klitschko in a p4p match-up.
Toney tends to get more aggressive as the fight goes on, especially when he is losing or if it's close. Not when he is unprepared though, then he just lays back and hopes that the opponent would walk into a counter punch.
McCallum and Nunn did well against Toney with the jab, but they also had to eat some counter punches (McCallum absorbed them, Nunn did not). I don't have much faith in Wladimir's jaw during the later stages of the fight.
Of course in a real match-up Toney would not have the ability to hurt Wladimir, he is way too small.Comment
