But other than Jackson and the even more overrated Mugabi, his record is filled with crap opponents.
And Pavlik has an all star resume? He beat Taylor (twice) and Miranda. That's actually kind of similar to McClellans, except McClellan beat a hall of famer.
Also, I'd like to point out that comparing resumes is not a valid method of determining who would win in a fight. For example, the names on Roy Jones resume isn't that fantastic compared to other fighters that fought in or around the same time and weight classes. That isn't to say those other guys would beat Roy in his prime of course.
Of course as a disclaimer I have to admit to having a very low opinion of him because of the way he abused dogs.
Well, that could explain some of it. At least your honest
I believe most past middleweight punchers would KO Pavlik (and Pavlik has a chance of KO'ing some of them as well).
I'm a fan of Pavlik, but I've seen him get hit with punches that he shouldn't be hit by in almost all of his fights. I really have no idea how he would do with a Julian Jackson or a Gerald McClellan, or even Arthur Abraham right now.
He still needs to prove more, I'm not one to jump in any 'bandwagons'.
McClellan had a chin too, he could take a punch. Gerald did lack stamina for all of his career so Pavlik's chances would definitely be in the later rounds if he can get there.
Pavlik get's hit too much against someone like McClellan he would pay dearly, it would be Tayor-Pavlik round 2 of there first fight but Pavlik would stay on that canvas.
