Rank in relation to what? P4p all time? No way in hell top 5 if you are talking about p4p. I am a big Pernell fan but come on now.

Other than Duran he is the best lightweight I've ever seen. He's top 3 at least in that weight. In his prime he was untouchable. He also had a stinging jab and was a punishing body puncher. Best defensive fighter I've ever seen at any time in history.

I would make sweat pea a top 25. If it were only based on skills, then he would certainly rank higher however he just didn't have the accomplishments of guys like Ali, Louis, Leonard, Duran ect. If he had the names around for him to fight, then he would be a top fiver. Hell he was pound for pound number one for the longest time at nearly a decade.

Pound for pound probably top 20 or 25, great fighter. Probably the best defensive fighter of all time apart from Willie Pep.

          Top 5 lightweight, definitely.

Whitaker couldnt have been p4p #1 for that long, Chavez was the #1 for quite a while.

I think Whitaker is top ten from the fighters Ive seen. I mean cmon, you can say what you want, but have you ever heard of anyone else that was p4p #2and beat the p4p #1? that sounds like a pretty huge win to me.

add in names like Buddy McGirt, Julio Cesar Vasquez and Azumah Nelson(among others) over multiple weight classes and I think you have a pretty amazing fighter.

I rank Whitaker right around #10 pound for pound all-time.

                Armstrong
                Duran

i see him in the top 10 of atg. i think he had a pretty impressive resume.it might be because when i started watching boxing he was on top but i dont think so. its funny cause i was thinking yesterday he was one of the more underated fighters in history.

He's one of my favorites fighters, for me he's a top 5 p4p in the last 20 years, but a top 25 as an ATG. He was so skilled, and for me he beat Chavez in that unfair draw.
