It is too early for him to match up against those guy but it would have been very interesting nonetheless, if Linares does become champion he would deserve more than a relatively obscure reign, like Hopkins.

I'm not sure if they can build Valero up though, the only place he can get a fight in the US is in Texas, he can't get a license to fight anywhere else. It would be pretty big in Japan though, they are both pretty well known over there.
Yeah I never understood the living and fighting out Japan thing. I guess boxing isn't so big in Venezuela? I'm thinking eventually Valero will be able to fight in the US (other than Texas). Pac tried to push for it at one point. If Valero keeps knocking people out I'm sure he'll be able to get a big fight in Vegas or NY or somethin.

I also think Linares would deserve a spotlight reign over the smaller weight classes if and when he does become champ. My point wasn't that his skills are lacking, it was more that the dangerous opponents and therefor big matchups will be lacking, i.e Hopkins.

Maybe he can get Chris John?

I don't really know why he's fighting out of Japan either, maybe the promoter there, Teiken, were the only guys who were willing to sign them or that was where the money was, also they would probably get better opponents from Teiken in Asia than a local promoter in Venezuela.

I'm not sure about Valero getting a license, I don't think the athletic commissions want to take a chance on him.

I understood your point, Hopkins deserved a much bigger spotlight than he was given for much of his career, I hope Linares gets some good attention if he becomes champion.

Maybe they can make the Chris John fight in Japan but I'm not sure if John is willing to do that because Japan is essentially Linares' backyard and I don't think John wants to travel outside of Asia to get a fight.

He fought Oscar Larios in the states. It was the undercard to BHop-Tinky Winky.

Well there's still more fights he could land. Oh man, Valero can make his debut on hbo by fighting Rocky Juarez in Texas. Juarez actually stands a chance in this one, cause it's in texas... still, it's a horrible chance.

I'd kinda hate to see Linares get robbed in indonesia... maybe they should wait a year or so before they make that one as well..

The winner of the Barrios-Juarez fight would be a good, action packed fight in Texas.

Maybe Linares-Guerrero at 130 would be good, they're both moving up.

Oh yeah why didn't I mention Barrios? Barrios-Valero. That's definitely happening, Juarez hopefully retires after Barrios. That guy gets more chances than Zab Judah, and deserves them half as much.

Yeah there's actually still a lot of decent fights at 130. Haha this will sound kinda ******ed, but I remember a short while ago they were really trying to make Pac-Injin chi happen. How active has he been lately? You think Linares would bite? At this point it can't go much differently than Linares-Larios went.

Juarez definitely doesn't deserve most of the chances he's got, if he loses this one I think he should try working his way back into contention.

I think In-Jin Chi went into MMA so that won't happen.
