no, because he said he's only gonna retire if he wins.

I hope not, but it's starting to seem like he might.

On the one hand, I think he might be talking about retirement so that he gets more money for fighting on. But I thought the same thing about Mayweather and then he went and actually retired.

I think that Pavlik losing to Hopkins would mean retirement for Calzaghe.

I disagree. First of all, I think he'd make Pavlik look worse than he made Kessler look, though it wouldn't be quite the ass-kicking he gave Lacy.

Secondly, I doubt he's all that worried about what people gouge him about regarding not taking a fight with Pavlik. He's fighting Jones for the payday, pure and simple, and good for him. He's at the end of his career, will be considered one of the most prominent SM and LH champions in history even if he didn't throw another punch from this second on, and even if that weren't the case, like I said....he's at the end of his career and really just can't afford to take on another 2 or 4 younger fighters. Not only would it potentially wreck his record, it would just be plain ******.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Jones should've done the same and retired before his first Tarver fight and just enjoyed the rest of his life and all the ****ing money he's made.

Take a break, go to Crusierwieght and challenge Haye? Biggest fight in British boxing history and why not?

Haye would deffo step back down to crusierwieght for that and i don't see why Calzaghe couldn't make the weight?

This fight makes more sense then you think.

I know you'd like to see it, but I think that could be wishful thinking! I can't imagine Calzaghe as a cruiserweight at all. He'd be fat as ****! He did suggest it once in some post fight interview, but I can't imagine it really happening. I would quite like to see it though, everyone reckons Haye would kill him, but I'm not so sure.

Haye is bigger and more powerful but a weak chin.

Calzaghe is the better boxer, better defense and a granite chin.

Would be a good fight IMO but i reckon Haye would KO/TKO at some point in the latter rounds.
