Mayweather Win Over Gatti Was Unimpressive

seriously if mayweather was as good as people make him out to be he woulda koed him in 3
    mayweather was a huge favorite
on the other side alfonso gomez was huge underdog and also managed to knock gatti out, he also did it with a more brutal punch
the gomez win was more impressive since gomez was actually an underdog

gomez is alot bigger than gatti. Gomez also fought a very old waaay past his prime gatti. Come on now dude you should know that. Floyd also fought gatti when gatti was WBC 140lbs champion. Gatti was more of the gatti that everyone knew him by back then when floyd fought him. If you can seriously can sit here and say you weren't impressed with floyd's beat down of gatti than you have to question whether your opinion is full of hate. Also the punch stats for that fight were as one sided as i have ever seen and probably ever has been in boxing. Floyd mayweather put on a damn beat down for the ages. For someone to say that wasn't impressive and throw up 100 excuses can safely be labeled as a floyd hater.

Mayweather was physically much smaller than Gatti by the time he came in the ring, remember that this was only his third fight at junior welterweight and Gatti was among the strongest at that weight. Not much of a boxer still, but strong.

Gomez on the other hand was able to fight Gatti at 147 and had been competing at a middleweight in the Contender against guys like Manfredo, who is now a super middleweight.

The size difference between Gomez and Mayweather, you can't compare the two at all. Factor that in with Mayweather never really trying for a knockout, he was punching at the target as opposed to through it.

I'd call Mayweather's performance over Gatti a masterpiece, though against a very hollow titlist taking the fight for the huge payday knowing he couldn't win. Gomez was in the right place at the right time against a Gatti on the slide coming off a damaging KO loss.

I'd say Gomez and Gomez are about the same size. LOL J/K

Yeah, there are a lot of reasons to hate on Mayweather, but saying he wasn't impressive against Gatti is ridiculous. In Jersey City they call someone getting their ass kicked getting "Gatti-Mayweathered", true story.

Mayweather did better against Gatti than De La Hoya did, De La Hoya actually got stunned at one point in the fight by an uppercut. HBO didn't call it because, he's the Golden Boy.

pffffft. ******. Mayweather isn't a KO artist, he beats you with his superior boxing ability. He beat the **** of gatti.

He also knocked down chico like 5 or 6 times which says something...

gatti-mayweatherd ima use that one. and yes gatti actually stunned dlh. Gatti landed cleanly in some exchanges. I think it was the second round when gatti landed some solid shots on dlh. Floyd's beatdown on gatti kills dlh performance against gatti all day every day. Roy jones jr 1st round KO of griffin was a pretty impressive beatdown, hopkins over trindad was pretty impressive(even though hopkins was much bigger) floyd vs chico and floyd vs gatii are some very very impressive beatdowns!

In Jones-Griffin, there are maybe 5 or 6 jarring punches and a quick one punch KO. I wouldn't call that a beatdown so much. Jones-Hall and Jones-Brannon, now those were impressive beatdowns.

Trinidad-Joppy was a real beatdown. Vargas-Campas, Marquez, real beatdowns. Come to think of it, Vargas had a lot of great beatdowns.
