What's the smallest weight Mayweather can still make?

People make it out like Mayweather is a tiny Welterweight, he's small but only because he doesn't put on weight after the weigh ins to retain his speed. Because he is in shape all year round and walks around naturally at 154 (?) I think he'd find it hard making 140 again, he'd have to lose solid muscle.

He can make 135 (with difficulty) by dehydrating. He can make 140 comfortably.

Well seeing as how Roy Jones eventually made it back down to 168 I have very little doubt that if Mayweather were to work at it properly that he could easily make it back down to 140 and possibly even 135. At 147 he's not skinny like he was back at 130 and 135 or even 140.

But back to your original point, he's at 147 now and looks solid, but I tend to suspect you didn't follow him closely when he was back at 135 and 140 because he was considered small at those weights also. He slowly added muscle to move up, but if you look at him against Corrales, for example, then look at him against either Judah, Baldomir, DLH or Hatton, you can see that he was skinnier at the lower weights. With the way he trains, he could become skinny again.

Hatton makes 140 and is 154 on fight night.

Pacquiao makes 130 and is 146 on fight night.

Is it unreasonable to think that mayweather makes 135 and is 147 on fight night?

Help me here. Because Floyd is not leaner than Pac.

Floyd is a lot bigger than Pacman and bigger than Hatton even in frame.

Yeah Hatton puts on 30 lbs of fat, who cares? Mayweather is always in shape and still stays around 154. He is a natural Welter who doesn't put on weight after weigh ins to keep his speed.

Then I guess Kelly Pavlik, who comes in at 168 fight night should have no problem at all making 154. Fact is some people are better at losing water weight than others. Floyd struggled to make weight against Jesus Chavez 7 years ago at 130. He is much bigger now and would seriously struggle to make 135. Forgetting for a minute that he will have been inactive for at least a year when he fights again.

Floyd has built himself up with solid muscle to be a legitimate welterweight. He'd have to work hard to make 140. Anyone thinking he can make 135 again is talking out of their ass.
