i GOT cOTTO on this one.Cintron just lacks the extra "umphh" and from what i saw against Feliciano last year im sorry but Cotto as small as he is compared to Cintron would really put a beatting on Cintron.Cintron has a punchers chance but i highly doubt he would catch Cotto clean.Cintron does not put pressure on his opponents and has major holes in his defense that Miguel would exploit. GOOD FIGHT THOUGH and it should happen asap.Cotto wins this on by 9th rd tko.

It's not even like Cotto did poorly against Margarito. He makes a few adjustments to better capitalize on his counter-punching, (like stepping in immediately to land body shots, etc.), and Margs ends up a little gassed at the end. It's easier to go forward than it is to go backwards. His adjustments will determine what happens next time. He also wasn't KO'd, he took a knee on purpose, and his corner threw in the towel. Right decision, but people tend to blow the outcome way out of proportion without considering the intangibles.

As to this fight, if Cotto boxes like he did against Margarito, and manages to force some inside work as well, he'll tear Cintron up.

Margarito's power is a lot like Pavlik's power: it's there, but it's the accumulation of punches that scores a KO.

He never said he couldn't hit, he said he wasn't the hardest puncher at the weight. Cintron did take a lot of flush shots to the face. It was the bodyshot that got him. Cotto also said it was the bodyshots, not the head shots, that really hurt him bad in the fight.
margarito made only what 1.5 for the cotto fight, which was waaaaay more huge than this fight would be............plus margarito was coming off two wins, including a KO of CINTRON..............so how much is cintron thinking he should make?

i'd hate to question a fighters heart, but after what margarito did to him, TWICE, and cintron admitting margarito beats every1 from here on out????? WTF??? what's the point in fighting still, after saying some **** like that?

he had surgery, so i won't knock him for the "tune-up," but i agree w/ u. he gets re-injured, or he'll eventually price himself out. either way i dont think cintron has cahunas!

This would be a very interesting fight... Cintron has some serious punching power and Cotto doesn't take a good flush punch too well. Cintron definitely has a puncher's chance...
A conditioned, sharp cotto will box the ears off of cintron, but if he fades or his defense is not sharp... cotto can get KO'D!

I would give Cintron the edge over Cotto. They both got beat by Margarito, but Cotto's type of loss was worse. Cotto landed damn near every punch he threw, combinations and all, and still got walked down to a K.O.. Cintron was walked down to but he also kinda backed down taking less abuse than Cotto overall. Also Cintron seems to have a better chin, the only person I have really seen hurt him is Margarito. I have seen Cotto hurt alot of times. No matter who wins, they are both tough as nails!! always good for BOXING!!

I will go with Cotto on this fight. Cotto will take him to boxing school. What he is saying about marg is right. i dont believe he is a power puncher, but the quantity is what is going to get you to the canvas. Also Cotto used to have a weak chin that got tested when he was a 140 pounder, now that he is at the right weight his chin is way better. Cotto was winning the early rounds against marg, the pressure got him tired, couldn't defend himself and that is were Marg started landing and he took a knew on both times that he went down, he knew what he was doing, he didnt get KO like how Cintron did, and didnt cried about it either(Cintron-1st fight) . But I will guarantee you that Cintron will NEVER bring a pressure like marg does, so I will go with Cotto, probably even a KO.

i agree. this would be a good fight between two puerto ricans. i give cintron the edge because of his height.

hope to see kermit and miguel back into action.

Cintron is a big guy who could do better in a heavier division, especially cuz it's wide open right now.
I see cotto winning the rematch against Margarito.

I think a tune-up for cintron would be bad...Look at the Jesse Feliciano debacle!! Just get in with cotto right away. The fight can be billed "The scrap of Margarito's leftover scraps"
