Kermit Cintron Wants Tune-up, Then Miguel Cotto Battle

Former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron is back in the gym, going through the early motions for a November ring return. With only two defeats on his record, both to Antonio Margarito (no shame in that), Cintron is still a player in the welterweight ranks. [details]

I'm kind of bothered about the way Cintron is already expecting a lot of money. He has done nothing to make those types of demands. Cotto has to get most of the money. He's earned that right. Cintron has to earn his way back and beating a legit top ten contender is something he has yet to do.

He didn't ask for big money. He asked for the money to be right because it's going to be a major fight.

He never said he couldn't hit, he said he wasn't the hardest puncher at the weight. Cintron did take a lot of flush shots to the face. It was the bodyshot that got him. Cotto also said it was the bodyshots, not the head shots, that really hurt him bad in the fight.

          kermit

kermit is right about maragarito not being a big pucher and he throws alot of punches and stops you but he's wrong about margarito beating clottey.if not for clottey's hand injuries he would've whipped maargaritos ass easily because thats what was happening in the ring.

I think kermit should move up to 154. No point stayin in a division where it's already been proven you cannot beat the top guy. Maybe he can win anotha belt, but he'll never be the man at 147 as long as Tony's there. I honestly don't see Cotto ever beatin Tony either, but 154 don't look good for him right now. Cintron is a big guy who could do better in a heavier division, especially cuz it's wide open right now.

Both fighters should take tune up fights.

LMAO!! @ Cintron picking Margarito to Destroy all oposition from here on out!

                Margo made dude his *****!

But as for this fight is concerned I say they should make it happen this fall on some B.A.D event havin a double-header or something and Cotto-Cintron being the Main Event...

Cotto said he'll fight him in the fall..didn't mention a "tune-up" that I recall..

They both have alot to lose with this match so they will be in to take each other out..Should make a great fight!!

Even tho I think Cintron's lack of boxing ability will hurt him in the long run..Cotto's performance against Margarito would DESTROY Cintron IMO..

so much for that Winky Wright vs Kermit Cintron fight via wikipedia.

Cintron vs Cotto would be interesting, but at the same time even if Kermit can get by Miguel

all that could lead to is a 3rd fight with Margarito

and do we really want to see that all over again? (Margarito-Cintron)

so maybe 154 would be a good move, as it's a pretty wide open division, and lacking in the big name department.

but there's also the WBC or IBF belt which Cintron can target
