Isn't that the case many times with great fighters they are close in ability and null and void each other , I agree it wasnt a whooping kinda fight but a technical chess match and I can enjoy those just as much as a slug fest .

Sorry old boy, but it was not a close "jabbing" match. For your information, and for anyone who does NOT actually have the fight on video, the commentators and analysts specifically zoomed in on the fact that there were practically NO jabs in the whole match. I believe that Roy Jones landed only 2 in the first 6 or 7 rounds, and Hopkins not much, if any, better. Jones was leading with his left hook.

Harold Lederman gave Jones the first 9 rounds straight. and later it was lsaid at the end that of the last couple of rounds, which were given to Hopkins when Jones coasted, that BECAUSE of the overwhelming scoring superiority of Jones, the inclination was to look for some round, ANY round, to try to give Hopkins, since it was not a scintillating fight.

An interesting point is that it was for a vacant championship, and Jones was NOT the #1contender, Hopkins was.

I see that my computer has "jumped" again. Damned irritating. My letter was meant for the guy who said it was a "jabbing" match.

he beat the young Hopkins way more convincingly than Calzaghe beat the old Hopkins. Don't try to kid yourself.
