Hell...even Santos, a belt holder, has called out Margarito....

      Nice try.

Mayweather climbed the weights and fought De La Hoya.

You can't "follow Oscar around for years" when he's 4, 3, 2 increments above you.

There's a difference between following someone around and being goal-oriented.

Floyd set a long-term goal for himself, and he achieved it.

A lot of fighters would have failed or just not set such a outland-ish goal at all.

He also stated that goal years before the alleged financial troubles that you credit as his reason for wanting to fight De La Hoya.

Santos and Williams want to fight him but hes not a Cotto-De La Hoyas fighter who fights the best around, hes gonna fight somebody he can beat first, so we have a long wait ahead of us.

                10 years?

                Begging?

                Can you prove this?

                What are your sources?

find any mayweather interview from when he won his first title and after and hes always mentioning dlh. and also mayweathers cowardly fans always said he ducked the best to make sure he wouldnt lose his shot at dlh because that is the fight he was looking for from the start of his career. he was calling out dlh when oscar was a welterweight and maywather was at 130. he was that desperate for the fight.

                    That's not 10 years.

When you clarify that Floyd announced his wish for a future De La Hoya fight as early as his 130lb days.
That just supports my point and destroys Sin City's.

Floyd set a long-term goal. He achieved it.

When the De La Hoya fight became a legitimate possibility. He didn't have to beg for it.
