Yes, they can. In fact, they HAVE to...and will.
HBO is a division of Time Warner. TW is a publicly traded company. Publicly traded firms are required to disclose revenues under Sarbanes-Oxley Sec 404.
That is why we know that HBO had 4.975 mil PPV transactions in 2007.
The PPV revs will be in the 10Q.Comment

I am curious to know, so I hope you are right. This is the source of my information:
T.O. (Oxnard CA): Why hasn't HBO announced the ppv buys for Marg-Cotto? Leads me to think they didn't do well, as HBO always announces ppv buys when they do well, as you said.
Dan Rafael: (2:00 PM ET ) It's not up to HBO to announce anything. It can only be done with the promoter's permission. Arum didn't want to do an official release, but he has told several reporters the numbers which have been backed up by HBO.Last edited by Scott9945; 08-15-2008, 11:17 PM.Comment

Actually, I have more to back my claim then you do. Aside from Dan Rafael, who happens to have a better source than you, I'm sure.
I also have Cotto (the draws) recent history. Recently, his PPVs have increased as they went by and his last two PPVs did slightly under 300K and well over 300K. So, to assume a fight of this magnitude would somehow do less, is foolish. Even the Malignaggi-Cotto fight did reasonable numbers for the time, and for how UNKNOWN Malignaggi was on a world-wide level at the time. To make the assumption that Cotto would LOSE the interest of 50K fans from the Mosley fight after putting up a good fight, in a very good fight, is a bit absurd. Especially since Margarito has a cult-like following and got tremendous support from the Mexican community.
So, think again.Comment

You provided ZERO facts. You made an assumption.Actually, I have more to back my claim then you do. Aside from Dan Rafael, who happens to have a better source than you, I'm sure.

And the Rafael numbers that you are referring to is a CLEAR attribution to Arum. Rafael even said that Arum was the source. And Arum has a PROVEN history of exaggerating PPV buys.
Your post makes ZERO SENSE in the context that the Cotto-Margarito double-header (for FREE) on WCB was the lowest rated WCB broadcast of all time. Is that consistent with Cotto's "increasing" popularity and margarito's "cult-like" status?
LMAO. Don't clown yourself. You are out of your depth on the business side.
FYI: Cotto-Malignaggi did approx 95K. That may be "reasonable" in your book. It was a disappointment to all others concerned. Thus, the reason that Cotto fought Quintana on WHICH network? Remind me.Comment
