Ok, here's my opinion on this. I've been reading this entire thread, and I have some comments to make. First off, Margarito is calling out Delahoya for two reasons. One is the money, no one here can blame him for that, if you do your either rich and dont need it or your an idiot. Two is that, once Margarito beats Delahoya he will become the man. He'll become the Mexican people's champion, the go to guy. Kinda like Chavez was for us.

Like it or not Delahoya became that guy after he beat Chavez. Whether we liked it or not he became our champion. If Delahoya cared anything about Mexican fans, he would give us this fight.

Let Margarito carry the torch now. Honestly since the recent losses of Morales and Barrera to Pacquaio, we need someone else to root for. I think even Chavez was kind of feeling this too, did you see how happy he was on Youtube. He kissed Margarito on the cheek and said he felt like one of his own son's had won. The margarito win was needed by all Mexican fans.

For all the fans out there, of other races, this why Mexican fans are pushing for this fight. Those pushing for the William's fight, be patient, let Margarito take advantage of this opportunity to make the most of his current situation, we all know he deserves it. Once he fights Delahoya or some other big name like Mosley, if Paul continues to win also, I know Margarito will fight him again. And if he doesn't, then people can say he's ducking Paul Williams.

By the way I was at the Margarito-Cotto fight and it was sick!

the problem with your post is that dlh won't fight margarito. so it's only logical that he fight the next best opponent aka paul williams.

He is not likeable ever since he defeated our Julio Cesar Chavez, now that was a KO to our mexican boxer,,, besides he is not going to beat Margarito,,, so Im not going to hate him more. I dont care so much about this fight,,, since Oscar is a chicano,, not even a full blooded mexican. But now that it became an issue,, i want Margo to do to him what the did to Cotto.

I highly doubt what Margarito is saying is true. First Williams offered Margarito the rematch when Cintron pulled out of the Williams fight. Second Margarito claims that Williams did not call him out until after he beat Cotto? BS..Third..he is critical of Oscar for making excuses not to fight him. Well he is making excuses not to rematch Williams but willing to fight Cintron and Clottey twice? Two people he already beat?
