There was a clash of heads in round 3. Thompson was easyily winning the fight, but then he couldn't see (his eye was shut) and couldn't come out for round 8. The ref ruled it as a punch at the time, but then Joe Tessitore and ESPN showed the ref the replay. The ref fully accknowledges the clash of heads, but then asks the commission what do to do. The commission looks at the replay and tells him that he should decide since he is the ref. The ref didn't want to go back on his original word so he called it a TKO even though he actually saw the replay and then saw the obvious clash of heads.

Awful.

You take a ref like that out back, and shoot him in the back of the head.

Yeah, very little sportsmanship on his opponents part...or dignity for that matter.

I dont think this decision will stand.

If that happens it's only because they were embarrassed on national TV.
