    ESPN2 Sept 5th: James Kirkland

As if September wasn't stacked enough we get this lil gem on free tv too....

Unbeaten junior middleweight James Kirkland (22-0, 19 KOs) will take on Ricardo Cortes (22-2-1, 15 KOs) on the September 5th ESPN2 card. Still no venue, but the bout will take place at a venue in Texas.

    Should be exciting

Personally, I'd like to see Kirkland take on Joel Julio after this. That would be so entertaining, and probably fairly quick.

How about instead of Cortes, why not see Kirkland fight the guy who knocked Cortes out in the first round the last time he fought, Alfredo Angulo?

I want to see that match up too. I think Kirkland would take it.

So that this time they can refer to that fight all throughout the card and then they can hype it up as their first big fight.

Then if Kirkland knocks Cortes out in the first, he just did the same thing that Angulo did and his stock goes nowhere. If he takes longer, then it's a let-down.
