And while Tony was throwing those wild (and slow) combinations, why didn't Cotto go to the body? If he was throwing head-counters, he could have thrown hooks to the ribs....right?

He didn't. Nor did he take one step forward and tie Tony up or try to smother. half the time that he got hit, he was moving away. Especially late. He went into what i call Cory Spinks mode.

Ive watched the fight 5 times. He threw alot of shots but had his elbows tucked when not throwing.
He tryed on a few occasions unsuccessfully, i dont blame him.
If u ask me his tactics were fine, he just needs to clinch a bit and try to stay off the ropes so much

What the **** was Cotto thinking? his fight was in the middle of the ring. Not necessarily inside, but boxing in open space. He isn't Floyd or Pernell. Get off the damn ropes.

When you watch Mayweather fight Baldomir, hatton and Delahoya, he used a combination of moving, clinching, tying up, and fighting inside.

Cotto just moved. Period. 100% on bis bike. And that **** gassed him out.

You can't run while throwing 70 punches per round. That isn't how Migs fights. He was not accustomed to that level of exertion.

To beat Margarito as the significantly smaller man, you need to have a composure that shows no cracks and the ability to adapt and change tactics under swarming pressure if necessary.
