Are you kidding? How many national TV spots did he get Lacy? He made him Showtime's top star and got him a great build up and payday for the Calzaghe fight. Lacy couldn't have been built up better and one day Jeff is going to finally realize that.

When a fighter is overhyped it reflects well on the promoter. He can't be blamed when the fight doesn't deliver when he has the big fight (calzaghe) delivered to him on a platter. Lacy didn't have the personal charisma to get him on Leno, Kimmel, etc.

kimbo has no charisma either ever seen his interviews? he is all image just like kimbo...but gary shaw invested more time into kimbo and elite xc then getting boxing on cbs...the guy is crap to me he should not be allowed back into boxing.

First of all I was talking about boxers, not clowns like Kimbo Slice. And if it's so damn easy to get boxing back on CBS, how come DLH, KIng, or Arum can't do it when they've had the best talent for years? Shaw was able to get his product sold to that network. It's not his fault they didn't want to show boxing instead. You obviously don't like Shaw (to me he's just another promoter), but your arguments have absolutely no merit here.

The best way to do that? DON'T FIGHT. If you want to fight challenge someone your own size and accept the possibility that you may have to take yours lumps. I mean...mora's a step in the right direction but there are other fights out there that hold more interest I think.

and oscar and arum both had chances to put boxing back on network tv but arum said he wouldnt do it because he had to give up to many rights.

Oscar had his chance on fox the greed is what kills it....boxing promoters want that quick income if you can put 10 ppvs a year and get 2 to 3 million out of it for yourself you will make more money not one promoter is willing to take a chance and sacrifice for the long run...thats why ufc is so big because the guys took a chance and budgeted and invested now they are reaping the rewards.

now we are stuck with gary show he during the izzy vs rafa 2 fight he was big upping kimbo and gina carano and for the trilogy as well...what a shame the mainstream had no idea how explosve those fights were.

Ok, I'm not going to quibble with you, just point out some facts. CBS owns Showtime. Gary Shaw is the defacto Showtime house promoter. CBS used to show boxing long before Gary Shaw was anyone. Them and the other networks went sour on boxing for reasons that are a whole other topic. CBS was interested in giving MMA a try on Saturday night. Shaw had the connections and the promotional experience to get it off the ground. From what I understand, Shaw is no longer involved with that MMA project. But blaming him for not getting boxing on CBS is like blaming Vince McMahon for not getting the WWE on HBO.
