He could beat you with his jab my man....he need not do anything else...might be boring to watch him fight at times because he holds his hands high and frustrate others into inactivity but he was sound and skilled no doubt...he gave some of the best nightmares about fighting him........Lefty

As you said. each to their own. i think his style is excellent. If you dont get hit you aint going to lose. defense first offence second. He is a solid all round boxer imoMY problem with Winky is, he comes into his fights with the mentality of "not losing" and trying to just outpoint his opponents, rather than trying to take the fight to his opponent and win decisevly. Winky fans will argue that he throws alot of punches, and always comes forward behind his high guard. While the might be true, what exactly is he throwing?... Jab after jab. Occasionaly u will see a pathetic attempt of a power punch that appears as if it wouldnt hurt a flyweight. He's so worried about not taking any damage, that he neglects to dish out damage. To each its own, but i can do without watching a Winky fight ever again.Comment

Yeah, I like watching him fight sometimes. The way he fought Tito was ****ing awesome! He did well with Taylor other than giving the last round and ultimately the fight away.I agree...Winky is highly underrated...On any given night he would give anybody problems...I hate that he hasnt fought in a while....I sure hopes he gets back in the ring to fight again...Its always fun to watch Winky fight IMO despite how some call him boring...It takes talent to go into a fight and make your opponent looks silly...Anybody can go out and brawl but Winky makes it look easy on how he blocks most of your shots and counter you with hard straight...He's one of my favorites!
I really didn't like his attitude after that fight either. Taylor offered him a rematch and he said he didn't want it.
I agree, he can give anyone problems with his masterful defense. He seriously pissed me off and turned me off as a fan of his after the Taylor fight.Comment

He kinda turned me off with that ****y attitude and his sportsmanship...He acted like a punk but he should have taken up the rematch...He didnt have anything to lose...I just hope he gets his big head ass back into the ring soon...He is playing around and letting time go by! He needs to get back to action!Yeah, I like watching him fight sometimes. The way he fought Tito was ****ing awesome! Yeah man, he's not getting any younger. Those Krispy Kreeme's are gonna catch up eventually. He kinda turned me off with that ****y attitude and his sportsmanship...He acted like a punk but he should have taken up the rematch...He didnt have anything to lose...I just hope he gets his big head ass back into the ring soon...He is playing around and letting time go by! He was a lot cooler when he lost that fight to B-Hop. I thought he acted classy after that fight. He thought he won but he wasn't bitching or trying to take nothing away from Hops. That's the way I like champs to act..Comment

I agree...Class win you fans and if you're humble in defeat...you're most likely to pick up you some new fans...Yeah man, he's not getting any younger. Those Krispy Kreeme's are gonna catch up eventually.

I wonder how long its going to be before Winky kick that Krispy kreeme habit...Thats not good for him if you factor his age into the equation...I think it will be hard to run that off given his age (he sure as hell isnt a spring chicken)Comment

I actually had Taylor 1 point up, so i thought the draw was the wrong call and that Wink should have LOST! (tho i wouldnt make a deal out of it in a fight that close)Yeah, I like watching him fight sometimes. The way he fought Tito was ****ing awesome! So for him to storm out like a ***** and squash a rematch irratated me too, i hear he cool in person tho.Comment

I agree with all of that. Unfortunately Winky is past his prime now. He's a highly skilled southpaw who had trouble getting fights because of that. Whoever said he was boring doesn't really appreaciate boxing. Winky's fights with Vargas and Jermaine Taylor were anything but boring.Comment

It doesn't matter what punch he's throwing if it's working. If you're referring to the Trinidad fight, I can flip the script and say I don't like fighters who just walk in trying to knock their opponent out with no alternative game plan. Winky made Trinidad look silly and thoroughly kicked his ass.MY problem with Winky is, he comes into his fights with the mentality of "not losing" and trying to just outpoint his opponents, rather than trying to take the fight to his opponent and win decisevly.
