That said, nobody head to head could ever have beaten Jones in his prime. Also, P4P Jones is still better than SRL.
Srl had a solid chin though. and he could throw back lol

Roy Jones had the most talent out of any boxer EVER bar none.

Resume wise it doesn't match up to the greats but if you're asking who would win? Jones would.

        Leonard is the better fighter

harder puncher ,more accurate ,better chin ,better stamina ,more heart ,better defence

at 160/168 obviously Jones but Leonard is /was the better fighter P4P

At 168 I think the fight would have been stopped because Roy would be to big, fast, and power for leonard. Leonard was more of a WW anyway.

This thread is confusing. The title, and poll question is P4P Best: Roy Jones Jr or Sugar Ray Leonard? Pound for Pound best, obviously goes to SRL w/o question.

But then you ask who would win in a fight at 168 or a catchweight? Well that's confusing because the results of that question may be different from the original poll question.

And to answer the latter question they would have to fight at middlweight, that's the only way it would be fair. SRL would win that fight, any higher in weight and I'd go with Jones.

I think Roys ATG status is more based on being a multiple weight champion, MW to HW, then having a stacked resume with names on it...

In real life though, Jones would have probably been too big for him.

Its not that Roy doesnt have some real good names on his resume... but compared to other ATG's he deosnt quiiiiiite stack up to their competition, but I think he makes up for it, by being a multiple weight champion... going from MW to HW back down to LHW speaks a lot for a resume...
