China WILL become a power in boxing, mark my words. Its just a matter of time.

BTW, as far as I'm aware no-one from the government uses the word Communist anymore.

The Chinese are some quick ass mofos they had some smaller weight featherweight who was so elusive dude was like a chinese mayweather.

They will Allow their fighters to go pro boxing was banned before in china but recently they reinstated it.

they allowed yao to play pro and now they want to send chinese to fight pro now.

The chinese might dominate the lower weights it will be scary.

The chinese are not like the Philippines or japan which consist mostly of shorter people. Yao ming is not the tallest or biggest person in china by a long shot. It would not be too difficult for them to find some monsterously big and bad dudes.

damn that would be crazy a chinese heavyweight champ lol but how come the majority of the boxing team are ripped up small guys?

They had this one chinese dude who was fast and elusive but he was shredded and pretty muscular you think they give him some roids?

man I want china to get in the mix bad so boxing can have more stars, Cubans are not allowed to compete which is what also is killing boxing.

They're ripped 4 the same reason Pacquiao and Bruce Lee are. They're simply addicted to excersise. Just find a video of a shaolin monk's daily workout and you'll see they excersise so much it literally doesnt take too long to get in that condition

Yao ming is easily one of the tallest, any taller and you are simply asking for a lifetime of pain.

Hardly now, since they have adapted free market economies. They'll just have a controlled version of pro's. They sold that freak to the NBA, so it will come. China has potential. They are doing OK since they lifted the ban in the 80's. Moa the sad **** banned everything, even fornicating. Imagine he didn't. It might be 2 billion now.

As a fighter i'd definitely be worried once they start handing out boxing gloves to some of those kungfu guys who can break bricks and metal bars with their heads

Watch rush hour3. There's a cameo of a 15yr old chinese kid who's already as tall as yao. He's still got 3-4years of growth left

I can see China becoming a power house in boxing..China is getting more and more prosperous as time goes and the Chinese goverment is more than willing to set up training programs just like they did for the olympics...They actually grab all these kids from a very young age and prospect them so they become the best in gymnastics and so on....And plus since the U.S. pretty much dominates all of sports with the exception of Soccer, they would like someday be on top of the sports world and use that status as a symbol of superiority just like the U.S. is doing now.....

You didn't even see Chinese baseball players back in the days but now you're starting to see a few of them...
