Joshua Clottey has revealed that he nearly pulled out from his title winning bout with Zab Judah. During the final two-weeks of training camp, Clottey's hands began to bother him and he was unable to shake the pain. He was advised by people around him to withdraw from the contest, but he refused and went forward after receiving medicine and treatment from physiotherapist Awudu Nelson, the brother of hall-of-fame former champion Azumah Nelson. Hey that's what happens when you hold your hands in front of your face and let someone tee off on that ass. Don't get me wrong, Clottey is a great fighter and without injuries has much potential, but he's paying the price of his style. I wouldn't be surprised if a big part of his injury came during the Zab fight.Comment

Is this the reason why a majority of fighters use the Winning gloves while training? I know that the Winning gloves are like pillows, and there is alot of cushion on the glove. I have seen pics of Marg and Cotto and other fighters using these gloves in their training camps. The only fighter that Ive seen where these gloves during a bout is PBF.Comment
