Andre Berto is the most protected world champ I have EVER seen! Who has he fought and he has a belt. Yes, he sounds like a good kid and all, but he is a World Champ after beating that last lame. Time to hold him accountable! Fight SOMEBODY! Stevie Forbes has never won a belt above 135, and that was over 3 years ago.

I just hope Luis gets his shot
I didn't know Collazo was his manditory!
If that's true Berto's taking a really smart detour.
Scared? ...Maybe...but it's a healthy thing if it reroutes his career path to develope him properly before he faces the top dogs, don't you think?
The dude's amazing in the ring! Really dangerous for EVERYONE in the division.
Although, I haven't seen his resilience yet - you know, facing adversity in the ring, where he almost gets knocked out but comes back.
A fighters really complete once he goes through that. It's almost like he's ready for anyone afterwards. (from what I've seen over the years anyway)
Berto's been plowing through all his opposition quickly, so it's gonna be great to finally see him go the distance. I don't take ANYTHING away from Him though. His speed & power amaze me each time I see him.
He's a perfect addition to mix with Clottey, Cotto, Marg, Cintron, and PW. And Collazo would be a good step after Forbes I think.

Clottey vs Berto
Clottey vs. Berto should be next. If Berto is still trying to get experience and **** then why is he a champion? Once you have a title you gotta defend it or unify it against top ***** fighters, not stevie that got whooped for 12 rnd against Oscar de la Hoya.

A belt holder shouldn't be doing any kind of 'prepping' - he's at the top already, he should be ready to face EVERYONE.
But does a belt attained from Mayweather's retirement suddenly change Berto's 22 past fights?
Even Berto admits he needs a little preparation for the 'top-dogs'.
His camp said they're not going after Cotto JUST YET.
That's not dodging, that's not a negative 'fear', that's just SMART and says ALOT about Berto!!! This guys is building the right kind of artillary to take out everyone.
It'd be so typical for a guy in his position to get prideful and say "I'm ready for ANYONE, I'll knock em ALL out!" Instead he's humble, respectful, and that's what makes him MOST dangerous.
It's not that he's avoiding anyone, he's making the proper preparations to take em all out.
As a fan, you gotta LOVE seeing wars in the ring.
What version of Berto would you like to see fight Clottey?
A not-as-confident, in-over-his head Berto or a ready-for-anything-Berto at his very best?
We're not talking about a dozen fights, he just wants the experience of going 12 hard rounds, what's so bad about that?

becuz stevie forbes isn't going to prepare you for a joshua clottey, a margarito, a cotto, or a PW. he should've fought collazo.

It's not like it'd be too late to fight Collazo after Forbes though.
Collazo would be great step between Forbes & top dogs.
btw - Is he still a mandatory for Berto?
At least he'll get the 12 round experience if Forbes holds up.
The fans will also compare what Berto could do
with a former De La Hoya rival.

yea, he sounds like he's got his head on right judging by the interview... thats probably why he's being so smart about taking it slooooowwwwwwww.
collazo's definitely the #1 mandatory. if berto doesnt face luis- legal actions will be taken... i dont think he's personally scarred, but his team is though. i mean, i know this would be a tough fight for collazo, berto is sick, but i think luis could win with his southpaw stance, and slickster style. regardless of what i think might happen, make the fight and lets find out!
im sick of watching berto fight taxi drivers, xcops, and bums off the street. his hbo red carpet treatment despite powder puff opposition is worse than roy jones contract and the bums it enabled him to fight at times (though i think roy had much better opponents overall than the critics attack him for). estrada was a step in the right direction but then he went back down a level again... man up champ and fight a threat! you don't even have to go looking for him. he's been chosen by the sanctioning body who gave you that nice green belt!
