    TOP 3 DUCKERS in BOXING

    1. Zsolt Erdei (has held linear title ransom for damn near ten years fighting almost nobody that even some hardcore fans would recognize)

    2. Ricky Hatton (ducked Witter like the plague, he need to give his country what they want)

    3. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (gained title and spent years defending it against regional fighters while avoiding all the big names in and or around his weight class for almost an entire decade. Remained in the same division yet never came to terms for a unification bout)

Zsolt Erdei, Chris John, and........I don't know about the 3rd one.

Zsolt Erdei is not really the lineal champ imo.

You never really know what goes on behind closed doors when fights are negotiated. The fighters are not the only people involved. So to assume that someone is ducking someone is just assuming & you should know what they say about assuming.

The worst out-and-out duck I've seen recently is Jermain Taylor's duck of Carl Froch. What sets it apart from other "he should have fought him" arguments is that the fight was actually ordered by the WBC for its title. Froch's people made a purse bid, but Taylor's refused to either accept or make one of their own. On paper it was an excellent opportunity for Taylor to get a belt in a division he doesn't even posess a win in, and whatever reasons you want to give, at the end of the day it was a fight he should have taken.

Anthony Mundine. He's beaten two good fighters - Green and Echols. Everyone knows he only beat Sam Solimon once, and Sam is the smaller man in spades.

Fighters and their managers/promoters have their reasons for takin or not takin certain fights. The word 'duck' connotates fear of defeat, so all fighters that don't take certain fights ain't necessarily duckers. Use of the word 'duck' depends on the fighter, his potential opponent, and the circumstances, i.e. every fighter who don't immediately answer the call of a man who challenges him ain't a ducker.

You do realize that Taylor-Lacy is a WBC Eliminator. So after Taylor beats Lacy, he'll fight Froch if he gets past his opponent. Ducking is not fighting someone at all you ****** ****ing limey.
