He WOULDNT take the damage Cotto took. No way would he get that much.
Can Mayweather take the damage Cotto took?

Floyd will NEVER get caught like cotto did. Even if they exchanged punches! margarito wont be able to exchange punches with floyd. Floyd will beat him to every punch! Then get out of the way. As much as i like margarito i would root for margarito 100% but i just don't see him doing much against floyd!Comment

To answer the question, NO. But he wouldn't let Margarito land many punches so its a moot point. Now whether or not Mayweather would actually get into the ring with Margarito is a different story altogether.Comment

You obviously don't know much about boxing pre-2007. In 2006, at the time, almost everyone thought Zab Judah was the man to beat Floyd. He was the undisputed champ of the division, fresh off KO'ing Cory Spinks a defensive wizard, much like Mayweather, who was just as fast, just as athletic and a lot more powerful.Comment

I just dont see how you dont understand that Miguel Cotto is not on mayweathers level, defensively the guy is a genius, hes one of those guys who even if he were to lose, could never be definitively beaten unless he allowed himself to do so. Hes a hopkins type fighter, you just cant get to him that easily. For years we have been hearing "FLOYD HASNT BEEN IN WITH _______" but for the most part, we have seen floyd against every style, you can argue he might lose, thats fine, but to deny that this guy is a defensive genius is just hating, which youll do no matter what the argument is. You just cant give a guy his credit, i dont give a **** what hes proven or not proven at 147, in 4 fights in the division, and 1 fight at 154, hes proven that just being bigger or stronger isnt enough. Infact, i think its funny since Mayweather is this unproven, untested, unchallenged fighter to you, what would Tony gain in beating the smaller untested guy?Comment

De La Hoya is a bigger puncher than Margarito, hes bigger or about the same size than Margarito, while i wont give DLH the stamina, overall hes a better fighter.

When hate clouds your judgement then you look dumb to other people without realising it, What happen to cotto in the Margarito fight would never happen to Mayweather, Mosley and even has of now Corey spinks...if people cannot understand that Cotto was defensively limited then they dont understand the sport of boxing.
Because someone is bigger doesnt mean he wins automatically, Rito might be bigger but the guy is limited technically the first 5 round against Cotto he was just following cotto, He doesnt even know how to cut the ring off, if spinks fights Margarito he would box his ear off for the first 9-10 rounds before he gets tired towards the end, If Mayweather box rito he would do it for 12 rounds...Comment

1) Yes he was expose- Not saying he isnt world class but the guy couldnt cope against the first guy that was bigger than him, Cotto fought people like Paulie who cotto was like 15 pound bigger than on fight night.
2) Mayweather wouldnt even take 1/3 of the damage that Cotto took because Mayweather is a superior boxer than cotto.Comment

Hionestly I don't see Flyod takinghalf the damage Cotto took from Margarito.
Mainly for the first reason as astated Money May will be on his horse all night. he will only throw one punch at a time and run run run from Margarito.
1) he won't stay in front of him and exchange
2) He doesn't have the heart and is not battle testedComment
