Look at who he beat in his last two fights and compare it to Hopkins last two fight. Who fought the better opposition?

I know it may be hard for you to comprehend this, as you don't appear to know much about boxing, but its actually pretty simple:

Kessler was more dangerous because he was young, strong and fast, and was Joe's most talented opponent to date.

Hopkins was not as dangerous because he was old and lacking in stamina. In his prime he would have been more dangerous than Kessler, but he wasn't.

So you think Mercado is better and a harder fight than Tarver, Wright, Oscar and Tito then?

Who was Kessler more dangerous, just because he was younger? Style makes fight. Hopkins style gave Calzaghe his hardest fight. Hopkins is a slot smarter and was able to knock down Calzaghe which Kessler IN HIS RPIME wasn’t able.

I just stating Hopkins fought better fighters and come into beating better opposition that Kessler has.

Styles do make fights. Kessler as a fast boxer puncher with considerable power and a reasonable workrate was more dangerous than Hopkins who was a no-workrate spoiler who never looked likely to do enough to win over the high workrate Joe and had not KOd anyone for years.
