Olympic Boxing Scoring Is A Joke!!

I have watched hours and hours over the last 2 days of boxing and I see plenty of white square on the face of the opponent and no points. This is a joke, damn, 3 points in a whole fight? These guys have fought their whole lives, they know how to connect. This is a travesty!!!

Welcome to the party, pal. The Zamir vs Izobo bout at LHW was one of the first fights on. And Zamir put him on the canvas THREE times, on punches that connected. Not a single one was counted as a point.
        WTF.....

I agree. The scoring system is awful. So many scoring punches go unnoticed by the judges. It is terrible.

they need to get compubox out there and judge on that ****, if you watch any of these slow-mo clips you can see 2-3 punches connecting per scuffle but I never see more than one point given per combo.

Yeh it's pretty awful. I don't know how it's been able to go ahead, I mean any tests or advisors woulda shown it's awful. It's an injustice to the boxers too. Only thing you can hope for is that it ends up evening itself out approximately, most of the time.

What was the system in the last olympics again?

TBH I don't like the scoring like this at all, there's so many styles of fighters that purely scoring on pct and not power shots, combo's, ring generalship, aggression, defence which seems to be the case, is just not judging boxing properly.

Seems to favour the boxers on the back foot.

Anyone see Joyce the Irish man.....he flat out ran the whole fight. Connected with an occassional punch and won 9-5 I think. I come from an Irish family but jesus, he lost that fight. He just did.
