Yes it was an underrated fight. Because it was rubbish.

Mayweather detractors like to cling to the "he's a boring fighter" argument. When challenged to list ALL his 'boring fights', they call out Baldomir and Oscar. That's it.

When, in reality, large portions of the Baldomir fight was pretty entertaining. I can see how a casual fan would be bored by The World Awaits. They were probably looking for the "brutal' beating that Floyd was predicting. In truth, Oscar has never taken a brutal beating. He is just too good for that. And Floyd is too small to be the one to administer it. So, Floyd fought a winning fight.

It's a shame, because 'The World Awaits' was the dog of all of Floyd's biggest fights (Hernandez, Chico, gatti, Judah, hatton). FMJ was pretty dominant and entertaining in all of the other big fights. But recent fans would not know that.

I'm a pretty big Floyd fan and I don't agree that parts of the Baldomir fight were exciting. I found it boring as **** tbh. But I agree with what you are saying. When people say he is a boring fighter I pretty much just write them off as morons who have, as you say, pretty much only watched the Baldomir and Oscar fights. I've got his career set and there are several fights on it which I am happy to watch several times. The vast majority of his fights were anything but boring.

            a) I did not say "exciting". I said entertaining.

            b) Submitted for your consideration...

Fight wasn't close at all. Zab did well in the opening rounds then got schooled for the last 9 save the 12th round. He should have had points deducted for his cheating tactics, so that cancels out the down Mayweather had.

Further more, Mayweather haters. It's general knowledge that Zab is a wild card, you shouldn't compare fighters based on how they handle the same fighter due to contrasting style but in Zab's case more so as he shows up to every match with a different mentality. With Mayweather he fought on a higher level and was younger. I personally feel Zab would have beaten Cotto had he not recieved the low blow.

I think the first 4-6 rounds are ok. But after that Floyd fights pretty negative and it gets boring IMO. I like the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight as well. Maybe it's just me

I thought Mayweather could have stopped if not for the low blow and rabbit punch.
That was a relatively easy fight to score.

Yeah I really didn't enjoy the Oscar fight. It could be that I just really like both guys so tbh I wasn't really rooting for either. I saw somebody describe it as a glorified sparring session on here a while back and I felt that was pretty close to the mark. Put it this way, I certainly did not want to see a rematch.
