and I watched the 2004 olympics and 2000 and the medal rounds were not packed at all.

if you wanna see packed look at the Gymnastics qualifier that was on earlier it wasnt even a medal round it was just a qualifier and the arena was filled with close to 20 thousand people.
yes they were packed, what are u talking about.

And the chinese support the olympics whole heartedly. They come out full force for every event. Once the events start to dwindle, they will have less to attend so the boxing event will get more and more people, especially if there is a chinese guy in the fights.

And its got nothing to do with boxing being popular or not, these people just love the olympics, and they support the games very well.

basically you siad it yourself when the events dwindle they will go watch the boxing.
      Basically as their last resort.
      Not first choice.
Kinda sad if you think about it.
They will only watch it when all the other vents finish but so far swimming, basketball, gymnastics, rowing, clay shooting, fencing, beach volley ball which is brand new have all had more people then the boxing events.

because olympic boxing sucks, we already covered this. why is that sad? The only sad thing is the judging,

If the olympic boxing was playing right next door to me, i highly doubt it would attend until there were gold medals being handed out.

AND, You can see in the stand people that have traveled all the way from Irland and all sorts of countries that have come to support their boxers.

Not to mention, there are still like 3 or 4 thousand people in the stands at any given time

Boxing olympic gold medal winners still get plenty of coverage here in the states. and they are watched very carefully in their professional careers.

they seem to be pretty well attended to me...especially the evening sessions.

and there have been some good exciting fights already - theres some great talent on show and a few potential professional stars in the making.

i don't think the scoring system is that difficult to comprehend. it can be fustrating when a clear shot isn't counted but i haven't seen anyone "robbed" due to the scoring system so far in this olympics.

From what i understand from a friend who is actually at the olympics, just about every event is basically sold out, she said that people were scalping, stampeding for just about every event no matter what, also, the crowds are not lit up, its not like in the USA where you have the whole place lit up, its not like that. Whatever though, think what you want.

this thread must be your way of coping with the fact that MMA isnt even recognized by the olympics
