WBA I think followed by WBC at least I think they are the most prestigious belts.
Which welterweight belt is most desirable?

I applaude you sir...you put it in a way us stuoid people can understand...or at least meHere is why The Ring belt is best:
1) It is linear. You have to beat the man to get it....EXCEPT
2) If the belt is vacant, then either the #1 and #2 or #1 and #3 have to fight....BUT
3) A fighter is never stripped of the belt for inactivity, it is only vacated if the holder a) retires or b) permanently changes weight class
4) It is NEVER 'awarded' to anyone.
So it is the hardest to get and most meaningful.
Oh yeah...and my favourite boxer has TWO of those bad boys.

Belts are silly, but the WBC seems to be (until now) the most important one at 147. Just about whomever has had it has been lineal.
Sweet Pea then Oscar then Trinidad then Oscar then Mosley then Forrest then Mayorga then Spinks then Judah then Baldomir then Mayweather and now Berto. Berto isn;t quite as high profile as the others, but he may acheive great things.Comment
