if the ring belt was so important ppl would be demanding for better rules and would demand a shot at the numerous vacant ring magazine belts scattered around in weightclasses
fact is the fighter makes the ring magazine belt, not the other way around

wtf? I thought the Ring belt was considered a joke. Just some lame promotion for Ring magazine. Shows how much I know.

TBH belts have nothing to do with it, it's just who is recognised as the best. The closest thing to that is The Ring belt which is right most of the time imo, but i wouldn't trust their ratings 100% of the time.

Here is why The Ring belt is best:

                    1) It is linear. You have to beat the man to get it....EXCEPT
                    2) If the belt is vacant, then either the #1 and #2 or #1 and #3 have to fight....BUT
                    3) A fighter is never stripped of the belt for inactivity, it is only vacated if the holder a) retires or b) permanently changes weight class
                    4) It is NEVER 'awarded' to anyone.

So it is the hardest to get and most meaningful.

Oh yeah...and my favourite boxer has TWO of those bad boys.
