Well Mario retired at 34 and he won 2 golds at the olympics and 3 world amature championships. My bad. I don't know who Mario Kindelan is, but if someone told me he was fighting Pacquiao, my money would be on Pacquiao. You are right about pro style and amateur style being different. But the skill level difference would be too much I think. In this case, Pacquiao wouldn't have to pace himself (even though it never seems like he does) but he would just be non-stop for the four rounds. A lot of these amateurs are very young. Who knows? I just think it's a safety issue.Comment

The reason they started allowing pros in basketball was because before the breakup of the soviet union, basically they were using amatuers who were really ****ing pros in many regards because alot of those guys were older, because they werent allowed to have pro leagues etc in USSR at the time, those guys were vets and basically the equivelent of an NBA team against young college kids. They allowed NBA players to play mostly because the US started complaining that they were matching boys against men, the thing is, the USSR brokeup by the time 92 came around, when the rule was lifted. It was the same complaint with the USSR Ice Hockey squad, once again using amatuers who were basically pros against mostly young college kids.Comment

Because it goes against amateur rules. Once you declare yourself pro you can NEVER fight amateur again. I'm positive about this for USA boxing and I would assume there is some sort of international rule that applies to all countries.Comment

style wont decide this match-up, yes its point scoring in olympics, BUT I just don't see how can any four-round fighter stand up to PAC in four rounds, plus PAC has mentality to KO his opponents with the short 4 rounds, he will be quicker from the starting block in establishing his intensions ...
AND head gear wont help either, its an added bonus for PAC not to focus on defense and Bulldoze his way ...
IMHO Kindelan probably will score early, but eventually will WILT by pressure and be KO/TKO by pac...
and I still believe that a Juan Manuel would be harder to beat in a 4 rounder...Comment
