Margarito Williams 1 was not a close fight.

i cant understand how people think it was a close fight, Williams clearly won. I think by about a 4 point lead.

    your thoughts guys?

I remember Williams clearly won the first 6, and I highly doubt anybody thinks Margarito took five of the last 6. I think I had it 8-4 or 9-3. I remember Margarito winning round 11 I think it was pretty big.

by the way, I just watched Toney vs. Nunn. That was a great ****in fight and really showed a young Toney's grit. You could already tell he was going to be a legend

It was so easy for Williams the first half of the fight he went into Cruise control for the second half which is dangerous against a guy like Margy but clearly did enough to win by 2-4 points depending on how you score fights. I can't remember but I think 8 rounds to 4 sounds about right. Williams would do the same in a rematch.....

You could win all 12 rounds and still be in a close fight. It's about how hard it was for you to win those close rounds.

And the rounds themselves, though most clearly went to Williams, were highly contested.

Points sometimes, don't tell you the difficulty in the fight. If Cotto could have kept up what he did in the first 6 rounds, he'd have won a wide decision. But, clearly, that 'easy fight' (if you go ONLY by points) was VERY close.

I thought it was a close fight, but clearly a clear cut win for Paul Williams.

I had it close. People said to expect fireworks but I found it pretty dull, at least until Margarito woke up around five or six rounds in.

I gave Tony 6-8 and 10-11. P-Will won it 115-113, close but clear.

That was Paul's fault, he was talking all this **** about how he was going to mop the floor with Margarito, but instead decided to put on his running shoes and pity pat his way to a decision.

Yeah, thats' one of my favorites too. The dramatic ending with Nunn's former trainer Goosen doing commentary and yelling "he's gone!".
