Good touch by the bbc playing the boxing live on the red button so you could watch all the fights. Some pretty dire fights in there to be honest at times but the Atoev V Kurbanov botu was good as the world champ Atoev got beat. I thought Kenny Egan Looked good and the morrocan Benchabla at light won in the 3rd round by getting over 20 points more than his opponent.

            Really enjoyed it today!

                Olympian Found Unconscious

Bantamweight Gary Russell Jr. will miss the Olympics after collapsing while trying to make weight, leaving the American boxing team without one of its top medal hopes.

The two-time national champion was found unconscious and severely dehydrated early Friday morning, U.S. coach Dan Campbell said. Russell's roommate, light flyweight Luis Yanez, alerted the American coaches shortly after Russell returned from a run in a final effort to reach his 119-pound weight limit. Medical personnel at the athletes' village rehydrated Russell. The 20-year-old boxer wasn't hospitalized and rested Friday, unable to participate with his teammates in the pre-Olympic weigh-in.

Russell, Jr. won bronze as a 17-year-old bantamweight (54kg/119 lbs) at the 2005 World Championships and reached the quarterfinals at the 2007 World Championships. Russell will need surgery on his right shoulder after the Games.

i watched jarrod fletcher lose to the cuban

fletcher isnt a bad fighter but the cuban had a long ass reach and fast hands, just beat him to the punch

i watched some more middleweight fights and some light heavyweight bouts

that carlos something kid from puerto rico in the 81 kg div looked pretty good, hes a 6''4 light heavyweight with fast hands and nice skills. hes one to watch and hes only 19

Billy Joe Saunders looked very impressive in his 14-3 victory over Adem Kilicci, who is the World Amatuer bronze medallist. Fast hands and feet make for a very slick counter puncher. I really fancy his chances to win a medal.

Billy Joe Saunders just merked up a Turkish world bronze medallist apparantly.
