Oscar De La Joya must win:
1. To vindicate the trowing of the signed contract on his face.
2. To beat up the bully that terrorized his fellow Mexican boxers.
3. To beat the number one Pound for Pound boxer of the present year.
Manny Pacquiao must win:
1. A feat that no Filipino nor Asian can break for centuries.
2. His dream to be a politician will be on the silver plater.
2. Filipino will adore him like Deity may even offer him the Presidency.

These motivation factors are worth more than the millions both will earn. Ofcourse the money will jump start the fight but it's just the icing.

If he wins he gets no credit at all, if he loses Pacquiao gets all the credit and it does well for Pac's legacy, And Pacquiao will get an extra 1 million dollar for each pound if Oscar comes above 147 lbs. If Oscar comes in at 150 lbs, thats like 3 million dollars for Pacquaio + the Guaranteed 10 million + PPV Revenue, Overall something like 25 million in the pocket which doesn't affect Pacquiao's legacy if he loses to Oscar, and DOES affect Oscar's if he loses to a former flyweight. Even if Oscar wins by KO it does nothing for his legacy. Win-Win for Pacquiao, Lose-Lose for Oscar.

I don't understand why this fight is happening. It makes a lot of money for Oscar, but it hurts his legacy. I thought he was looking for the toughest fight out there. That's not Manny.
