Well, now that I thought about it some more, you're probably right. I was thinking Tyson was more popular, but that would be domestically and not world-wide like Ali was. Gee, I wish there was an option where you could change votes.Comment

Ali...and its not even close. He was a larger than life character who transcended the sport. Tyson was also a very hated character even in his prime. And dont even tell me that Tysons events were bigger. Have you not witnessed Ali-Frazier 1 or the rumble in the jungleComment

Ali was never that popular in his prime. It was later in his career and then after he hung up the gloves that he became the icon he is.
As for the question i'd probably say Tyson. Followed by Ray Leonard and the De La Hoya.
