Judah is a mental midgette who greatly disappointed me many times just like one of my fas Tyson. Greatly disappointed me although I defended him over and over again by mentally breaking down. To me Judah copping out of the CLottey fight a fightin which I think he could have easily won had he stuck in there pissed me off....Lefty
i agree it should have pissed you off but it doesnt make him a bum. thats all im saying. it hink it is a poor choice of words. was he a bum against cotto?

    • Lefty, I guess we are arguing semantics here. I do agree that Judah didn't live up to his full potential, but where I deviate from your view is that making him a bum. A bum is someone that signs up at a boxing gym and leaves after the first day of hard training. A bum.. is someone that gets discouraged and quits boxing after their first loss, or.. even their first hard sparring session. Judah, was at the top of his part of the game at the highest level for a short while, so even if he disappointed your expectations, (not being a HOF'er..ect.) That hardly makes him a bum, in the way I define the word.

But, from my post earlier.. It seems you have changed a bit as a poster over the years. That Tyson bit is was got my hackles up (calling an ATG a bum), but you seem to have moderated yourself a bit since then.

Clottey was after Cotto and the fight after Clottey he sort of redeemed himself by getting cut over both eyes and fighting through it. But this is how I felt after the Clottey fight Shawn I guess I need to be taken out back and shot for expressing my feeling about a sport I am damn passionate about....Lefty

man there aint no need for the victim sarcasm stuff. we are just rapping here. i just have a problem with the word bum when referring to a boxer who has accomplished what zab has. and if it was just a reaction after the clottey fight why keep bringing it back. that was over a year ago

The day I posted this thread I was pretty upset about the way the fight turned out. I had high hopes for Judah to get the W there and possibly catapult himself back into the running along with Cotto Margarito and Mayweather. He did not fight with Mosley which was a fight I wanted to see very much. Even though Judah had been bested by Cotto and beaten by Mayweather I didn't see much same in those performances (barring the low blows) he didn't quit. When he took the easy route out in the Clottey fight or what appeared to be the easy route out to me I broke. here is a guy I saw firsthand live in the GYM (Gleasons) hit guys on the chin with bolo uppercuts and put their lights out permanently a kid with hands faster than anyone I had ever seen in person strength movement and style taking the easy way out. It seemed to me that fighting was not in his heart anymore. When fighting is not in your heart and you are there strictly for a pay check pride is no longer involved you are a beaten fighter. Just ask Tyson he was a beaten fighter before he stepped in the ring with Williams or McBride. If you saw his documentary than you know what I am talking about.

Tyson to me was my all time favorite and it pains me to have people question his heart because at the ripe old age of 21 he accomplished more than most people do in three life times. The only problem with Mie is Mike. i feel that same way about Zab he too accomplished alot by a very young age and was on top of his game but in the face of adversity he crumbled whether it is due to his lack of adjustments during fights his trainer or just his mind state in gerneral he breaks down. He lets his frustrations get the best of him and looks for a way out of a big fight. Example the low blows with FMJ, the Cut with Clottey. I don't know whether he didn't take Baldomir seriously or what maybe he didn’t train hard for the fight and was trying to get in Carlos' head by tapping his leg rather than his hands pre fight but it was poor taste and no class. No class to me is a bummy act....Maybe the way you thought of the word bum and the way I think of it is different but to me you described a coward not a bum....Zab is not a coward but mentally he breaks down in the face of adversity or has in the past....I explained myself enough I think you can understand where I was and am coming from now....Lefty

When ever someone talks about Zab I bring back this thread because some of the same points that were made in this thread still stand about Zab. he too me has not fought a near B Class fighter since he lost to Clottey back than. He fought a few nobodies. Until he gets back in there with someone B Level or above and goes through a fight or wins in dominate fashion to me he is still in the same state of the sport he was in afte the loss to Clottey....Lefty
