If Pavlik knocks out Hopkins will he?

get some credit for defeating an elderly 43 soon to be 44 year old man who has never been knoocked out?

recieve the Calzaghe treatment and be labeled as the retirement home strangler?

be thrown into the hype machine just like after the Gary "LOL" Lockett win?

replace Hopkins spot on some P4P charts?

I think many will discredit Hopkins as being shot to **** if Kelly KO's him (Kinda how some discredit Titos win over Pernell Whittaker), and some will go into overboard hype mode.

He's already higher than Hopkins on my P4P list. If he knocks out Hopkins he deserves a lot of credit because that's a pretty hard thing to do.

Bhop has never been KO'd. If Pavlik manages to do it then of course he gets respect.

Hopkin will fight Jones and then they'll both retire.

Already ppl aren't mentioning Hopkins age as much as they did with Calzaghe, and Pavlik is in his 20's.

I think Pavlik will got a lot more credit given to him for beating Hopkins than Calzaghe did, regardless of how well.

I favour Pavlik by a thin margin as he'll be throwing a lot and one or two should land and effect Hopkins at least somewhat, but if I had to bet would say no KO, poss a TKO at most, most likely a decision for him.

Hopkins won't hurt Pavlik imo so I see Hopkins getting more gasses out more esp being even older, dodging hard shots more than he had to with Calzaghe. A close fight though, and I do give credit to the winner. I just think Pavlik may well get way more than Calzaghe did conveniently.

KOing Hopkins is a feat in itself. dominating Hopkins is a feat in itself.

winning a close UD or SD over hopkins has already been done and doesn't mean much anymore.

I think people tend to mention Hopkins age with Calzaghe because he was floored and didn't look as dominant compared to some of his recent performances. It wasn't Calzaghes fault because Hopkins is a spoiler and will do anything{clinching, leading with his head and taking long breaks}to slow the pace of the fight down.Even Enzo Calzaghe gave Popkins a cane symbolizing his age just like Tarver gave him a rocking chair.Calzaghe's camp mentioned Hopkins age any time they had a chance to.It may have been jokingly but it still leaves an imprint on fans who are for Hopkins or against him.

If Pavlik get bossed around and knocked down or the decision isn't quite clear I am sure you will see Hopkins age come into play on these message boards.I think Hopkins will pull this off.A more complete fighter like Calzaghe who has very good stamina and can throw an average of 70 punches per round with speed and angles had so many problems with Hop,I would hate to see Pavlik deal with the same situations.
