the only time bernard made it in mine is when he's fighting someone else i liked.

who is going to the hall of fame first? i think fighters like b-hop and floyd and winky will before fighters like gatti, margarito, and and katsidis, and they actually be able to give a decent acceptance speech without having to wear a bib.

i think you know my answer now.

Ask the fans who pay to see these fights if they give 2 ****s about which fighters are going to the HOF? All they care for is competitive, entertaining bouts.

Side note: Ali falls into the category of the first group u mentioned, yet he wears a bib.

why does ali wear a bib? because he got a little bit more riskier than he should have. i'm not saying that these guys should be really defensive when they fight, but the less you get the better your chances are after your boxing career. ali does have parkisans, but fighters like gatti, tony, and mike have a much larger chance of becoming brain dead once they retire.

i don't need to ask the fans who pay to see the fights if they give a crap about who goes to the hall of fame, because all of these fighters have given competitve, entertaining fights to the fans. and, legacy comes into play when determining hall of fame ballots anyway, and i guarantee you that floyd, hopkins, and winky will become all time greats much faster than the warriors like gatti, tony, and michael. why? because they fought smart and actually stuck to the sweet science known as boxing. it's alright to want to see entertaining fights, but boxing to me is an artform, and floyd, hopkins, and wright portray that much better than the other three and look how they are perceived, even with the hate. they'll be considered greater fighters more than the other three. hell, they already are.

fighters like pacman, morrales, barrera, and other warriors with skills are also great, but they took a lot of punishment tacticians like hopkins, wright, and mayweather haven't, and i pray their post boxing career plays out in their favor and they stay as healthy as they can.

it's okay to give the fans what they pay for, but you have to remember, for every amazing brawl and boxing war, that fighter puts his life on the line to please fans, that pay their money, yet, they have their own families to keep in mind also. i'd rather be in floyd's position, getting paid all that money, yet taking the least punishment while being considered the best fighter in boxing. i don't know about you.

boxing is art, not only theatrics. drama is great in boxing, because the fighters make their fights suspensful and legendary, but what about them, themselves. fighters have died in the ring trying to please the fans, and it's their fault by defeault seeign how they are in a violent sport to begin with, but this is why defense is extremely important. i'd rather watch a fighter with immense skills on offense and amazing skills on defense, rather than two guys pound each other's face in with little to no defense. it can shorten careers. and not every fighter has a bad chin or thin skin, nor will have a bad post career, but the chances of that happening are much greater fo rfighters like gatti and tony more than fighters like floyd and hopkins.
