According to William's fans who happened to be hardcore Floyd fans, Oscar De La Hoya can beat ANYONE except Floyd south of 154LBS so wtf is the problem?

If you fight De La Hoya now, then Williams.. The fight is a lot bigger. You actually get even more money in that fight. More exposure for both fighters. In a lot of ways, Williams fans should want the De La Hoya/Margarito fight. If Margarito beats De La Hoya, and then Williams beats Tony, their guy would get more money and more exposure than he normally would.
Exactly. December will be the last chance to fight DLH and beating DLH is the fast way to become a star in boxing, Williams can stand to wait until sometime next year when the fight would be much bigger and it would make more money for both of them, Margarito especially.

It's not about hardcore vs casual fans as the threead starter stated.

It's about Margarito coming up the hard way, turning pro when he was 15 and having to fight his way up.....literally.

Cotto had a much better team around him or at least a team and managment that understood the business aspect of boxing much better.

Margarito was thrown into deep water and was told to sink or swim, well he can swim now, we all know that but he deserves, needs a big payday.

Marg still isn't making the money other fighters are in his weight class and fighting DLH win or lose will guarantee him a nice payday.

I didn't suggest that it was hardcore versus casual fans. However, most hardcore fans would prefer one fight and casual fans would prefer the other. That's fact. Not a suggestion.

This is much to big of a choice, to just boil down to such a simple argument and casual versus hardcore fans, to begin with.

I understand you want to prove your point, but don't try to water mine down to do it.

One has more money and pushes you over the top if you're in Margarito's position. The other has the ability to get you a good amount of money and silences all doubters.

Both have the ability to be exciting fights.

Both would help your legacy for different reasons.

Both allow you to have big fights AFTER the fight and hold a lot more cards if you win.

One might say you could beat De La Hoya, and some say you were getting to Williams in the first fight.

                So, who do you pick?

                Vote. Discuss.
this poll doesn't make sense because margarito won't get dlh anyways. he might as well take williams for $4 millions and avenge his loss.

obviously Marg is picking Oscar. He doesn't want Paul Williams to knock him off the gravy train.

I didn't say he'd get either. I was asking who you pick. As in, if you HAD a choice.
