Holmes was older and I think he got up against Tyson twice, didn't he?

Shavers power is way overrated. That punch he landed on Holmes was good only because he moved in with it. Holmes should have ducked that one. I bet he looks back at that fight and wonders why he didn't move, it was easy to see coming. That's why those shots rarely land. Lots of fighters could have dropped Holmes with that same shot. Tyson doesn't have to take a back seat to none of them. Even Emanuel Stewart said he thought Tyson was the hardest puncher in HW history. Marciano on the list is a joke, and Morrison hit a hell of a lot harder than Wlad.

Damn, that sounds like a monster....
And sounds like you got a very nice collection, bud.
You ever fire a .500 S&W Magnum? My friends dad has one. 8 inch barrel. After about 20 rounds of 440 grain, I was done....

it is. the alaskan is a snub nose super redhawk.

the .480 is not that bad though. it comes in .454 casull and .480 ruger.

the .480 throws a heavy bullet but not super fast.

i just bought it 'cause it looked mean. i only fire a cylinder worth at a time.

the range doesn't have that caliber and i don't handload. ammo is expensive and it hurts my hand.

i've never seen a .500 S&W. i'd bet you wouldn't want to shoot more than a few rounds in practice with that.

I feel you about the big bore hand gun ammo. The 440 grains cost around 50 bucks for 12 rounds....

I've seen most of Shavers' fights and I can say that his power is not overrated. He just did not have the skills and talent of the other punchers such as Foreman, Liston, Tyson and Louis.

Shavers had a lot of heart as well.
